Brief Introduction

Penang Street Art, and in particular George Town Street Art, has in the past few years enhance its appeal as a tourist destination. Since its inscription has a World Heritage Site, George Town, Penang, has developed a vibrant street art scene. This began with Marking George Town in 2009, which brought the telling of street and social history through the use of caricatures. The project, which showcases the works of cartoonists such as Tang Mun Kian and Baba Chuah, has helped generate awareness of the rich history of the streets.

About Street Artist

Many have become enamoured of the newly transformed streetscape of George Town, much thanks to the beutiful and evocative murals that his hand painted, which is Ernest Zacharevic. From What Originally was a short visit to Penang, Lithuanian-Born artist who graduated with Hounours from Middlesex University in London, has since taken up temporary residence in Penang and is currently pursuing a career as a full-time artist, animator, photographer and filmmaker.
